AC VPN is a sophisticated new generation approach for providing a complete applications aware MPLS VPN. AC VPN delivers per application traffic optimisation; per application reporting; and dynamic allocation of VPN resources to achieve application performance objectives that are defined per application and per user flow.
AC VPN uses a combination of a multiclass network, sophisticated software systems and a customer premise appliance. All the elements are integrated into an overall system that controls and manages each customer VPN. This allows the entire VPN to act as a distributed intelligent system that can adapt the VPN to the overall available bandwidth, VPN performance and application performance targets defined by the customer to achieve their operational business requirements.
Unlike static solutions which take a local view of performance and try to address only the local performance, AC VPN takes a complete view of the VPN and can control both local and remote sites to achieve the overall application performance objectives.
